More RAM = less internet.... help.

I decided to max out the RAM in my windows 10 pro desktop gaming PC, which is based on the Ryzen 7 2700x, and Asus Strix x470f, which previously had 32GB DDR4 3200, I added another 32GB, and now my onboard network adaptor has vanished as far as windows is concerned, if I remove the extra two memory sticks it comes back, put them back in and it's gone again, is this a known problem on this board and if so is there a work around or fix for it?

If anyone could help I would appreciate it, I'm no noob with PC's, but this is a new one on me....

Are you running the latest UEFI version for your board?

Is the new RAM the same as the old one?

Did you load XMP profiles? Have you tried with the secondary profiles?

I've not updated to the lasted UEFI version, the RAM is the same as the originals, I'm trying different profiles at the moment.

RAM can be the same in speed/capacity, but the mannie can change suppliers and use different flash memory modules and FUBAR systems with simple 'its the same' knowledge.

I could see it causing system instability, but to knock out the onboard Ethernet????

If there were issues with timings I'd expect to see things like applications crashing or windows itself having issues, it seems entirely stable, just no Ethernet.

I think you're right, guess I'll have to buy a PCIe Ethernet card.

I'm not sure I've seen an instance of Ryzen requiring it, but HEDT CPUs sometimes need to be re-seated when lots of RAM becomes problematic.  That's more for the channels to the CPU, but perhaps it's what is presenting here as well. Also, not enough mounting pressure can cause the same problem.

Well I don't know why, but it's fixed, I installed a PCIe network card as a work around and when I installed the driver for it windows also detected the onboard port.

Weird one.
