Hey guys, I have a msi 1080ti gaming gpu. When i overclock with msi afterburner there is not really any improvement in fps at all, and the temperatures don't increase either. I have tried everything from 10-500MHz memory clock and everything from 5-120MHz core clock.  I have power limit set to max. At about 450MHz memory clock i get colors flashing and flickering on the screen and the game crashes sometimes, even though i dont have very high temperatures (55-70 degrees), which is weird since i see people overclock the x version of the card much more, and I have the non-x version of the card so i should be able to overclock it more since its the same exact card just not factory overclocked.  Any help would be appreciated.

Btw, does increasing the core voltage help? I've seen people say both that it helps and it doesn't.

What are you using to measure performance?

Overclocking on Pascal is pretty shit it terms of return. They auto overclock pretty high depending on temps. Lots of Unreal Engine games HATE overclocks, they will crash no matter what.

You can really crank that core voltage all the way up to +100%, NVIDIA locks voltage down pretty bad so you won't damage the card, but it would make the card heat up faster, and probably won't give you much of a benefit. All in all it's not really worth it unless you're going for benchmark scores or something.

The msi afterburner/rivatuner monitoring

Monitoring what? Are you running games or benchmarks?

Games. Im using the on screen display to display fps and cpu and gpu temps.

Which games are you playing and what fps are you getting for before and after? Are you running the same scenario in each test?

Raising voltage can help improve stability but also increase temps.

Yes I'm running the same scenario. In modded The Witcher 3 im getting 35-40 fps. In GTA 5 I'm getting 130-140 fps. The same fps before and after.

What's the clock speed before and after? With gpu boost, it could be that the graphics card was already running at the same clocks.
