I know Skylake mainstream was 6600k, 6700k, you know. What about the 6800k, Broadwell-E CPU? It is 6-Core/12-Thread 3.4Ghz. I'm curious about this one.

How does it perform for games still in 2019? (Overclocked let's say 4.2ghz)

Will it be able to perform in AAA games in a few years time? (Overclocked let's say 4.2Ghz)

How does it fare in things like 1080p Video editing/rendering?

Would getting this CPU for like $175 be a good deal?

Does it still keep up with modern GPU? (Lower RTX series, GTX 1080, Vega 56, Vega 64,etc.

Getting the CPU for $175 would be a steal, but you would be spending the rest of the saved money on the expensive X99 motherboards. I asked some of the same questions, and it's actually in the category of the extreme Intel CPUs, like the 7980XE, 9980XE, i7-5820k, etc. It has the 6 in the name, and the 6 cores/12T because all of the fact that is a HEDT (high end desktop, HEDT is the CPUs that I just metntioned) CPU.  HEDT naming's numbers are a generation ahead of the CPUs that are being sold as regular desktop CPUs, so thats why the 7980XE is from the same time as the 6th gen CPUs.

I think it would still perform pretty well. I would think it would render pretty good, too, since it's an HEDT CPU.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

You don't have a CPU bottleneck as long as you give a nice OC.  For example,, my CPU is 7 years old.  In Aida64 CPU Queen test my OCed cpu beats a stock 8700k and keeps up in all other tests.  You must OC her if you want real nice performance and what not.  Even a slight OC to 4.2 or 4.4Ghz and what not.

Nothing compared to the time Office Depot went full retrad mode and sold the Strix X99 gaming for $26.

Forgot about that one, actually there was a string of various brick and mortar retailers that did the same kind of oopsie a couple months back

-Flawlessly

-Yes, absolutely

-it does very well

-Yes it is a very good deal especially if you can find a decent motherboard for about the same price as the CPU

-You can go as high as a RTX 2080ti and get an outstanding gaming experience on 1440p high settings high refresh rate...GTX 1080 for 1080p would get my vote.

So I'm just scrolling ebay looking at CPU and see a "SILICON LOTTERY DELIDDED i7 7820X" for $499 that is used. 7820X is a 8-Core/16-Thread 3.6Ghz CPU that normally goes for $600+ brand new. On the page, it says that the CPU was professionally delidded and resealed and could run 4.8Ghz on all 8 cores. Would this be a good buy if we are talking relatively?
