Hey, currently I'm rocking this setup:

i5 6500 with stock cooler;

GTX 960 4GB;

8GB DDR4 at 2400MHz;

I have an upgrade budget of ~ $600.

Mind I'm not from US, so there will be some taxes.

I'm using the system mostly for CS:GO & PUBG, and sometimes GTA V Online.

Also i have a 144Hz Monitor, BenQ XL2411. (As I read, it can only work at 144hz with DVI Input) So if I'll get a 2060, I don't think I'll get 144Hz.

I want your suggestions. Thanks a lot.

OP tbh if you are just playing those games, i would start with replacing the CPU

More and more games are using more cores, and i had an i5 7500, and i saw an average increase of 30%~ in most cpu intensive games going to a 2700x,

Then i would add another 8gig stick of ram

Then when the GPU market calms down a little bit i would get a new GPU

Current Build

What would you suggest me? I was thinking either a 2600x which is great for my budget + a b450 Aorus Pro, and another 8GB stick, or a 9600k, and z390 tomahawk.

If i would buy the 2600x, the next month I think i'll get the new GPU too.

9600k is better for strictly gaming, the 2600x is better at everything else basically, you'll have 6c/12t vs 6c/6t, not to mention you can save even more if you are okay with using the stock cooler with the 2600x,

But i really can't doubt the 9600k's potential. you can get 5ghz easy with a good air cooler, and it will destroy any ryzen CPU in pretty much any games. but after you factor in a more expensive motherboard, a cooler and the CPU is more expensive on average you would be able to afford a 2700x no problem

I recommend you to get a RTX 2060 and get one more stick of 8gigs RAM. Your CPU is quite powerful, so I won't recommend you to can it

Yes, I would get a RTX 2060, but as it hasn't got DVI port, I wouldn't have 144Hz.

My monitor can only show 144hz via DVI.
