i5 8400 vs r5 2600?

I was going to buy a  r5  2600  but i5 8400 is same price   as we  speak where I live ? also what kinda of Mobo should be attached  to  i5 8400?  (  im only gaming)

AFAIK the 8400 and 2600 are roughly equal speeds in games. If I had to pick one I'd go with the R5, mainly because you'll have a better upgrade path in the future.

2600, mobos are cheaper, you can overclock it, same performance for less money, doesn't comes with an useless GPU to inflate the price, oh and upgradeability because intel 8th gen boards will be considered "obsolete" at the end of this year because of a firmware lock that will prevent users from upgrading the CPU to whatever Intel comes up with this year.

If you want PC to play just games then intel build will be good choice
