I am currently interested in buying the AT2020 mic

In my country the XLR version is 90euro and the USB version 160euro.

Since that's 70 euro difference for basically the same microphone, i'm temping to buy the XLR version since it's cheaper.

My question to you is; are there any extra devices needed to run this mic properly such as a digital interface? Will all the extra devices/cables end up costing more than 70 euro's?

Advice is appreciated!

Buy the XLR version and a cheap usb interface like the Behringer UM2 (29€). You need a interface for XLR, but the sound should be better than the USB version and you can use it for any other XLR mic later.

You also need a stand and a XLR cable.

Yes you will need an audio usb interface for your XLR mic. I would always suggest you to go with the XLR mic and have a decent audio interface the sound quality difference is sky-high.

You can look up for a 2i/2o interface which will suit your need if you use  only one mic.

Look these up Vault Ai22 2x2 USB Audio Interface  Or Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2in/2out Audio Interface

You can also go for a second hand device it will be equally good.
