Random ping

hello guys , i am playing fortnite and my ping was about 55-70 but really wanted to lower that , i am using an ethernet cable already so i searched a bit my router settings and i saw that my firewall was at high. So i lowered that and suddenly my ping went to 27-40 max which was great. And it was like that for the whole day , but the next day without chaning any setting (checked if it was done automatically ) i had again the same ping of 55-70 . Any idea on what happened? 

 

- i have a 24mpbs connection adsl (although i only get max 14 )

- i am using ethernet

-my pc is the only device on the internet when i check the ping  

-also i have the game whitelisted on antivirus

If you're using ethernet to your PC you have basically done all you can to reduce your ping, 95% of ping time is down to your ISP and your physical location relative to the server. Regardless, ping under 100, or even 150 on newer games, basically doesn't matter.

yeah i know , but my question is why for a day my ping was so low and why it did go back to 30 ping higher . Well in fortnite the difference between 60 and 30 ping is huge , and lower ping  makes you able to shoot through walls and not get shooted through walls

Just Depends on server load on their end, and the load over at your ISP end.

Only way to get a "steadier" is to get a business connection that "Guarentees" a certain ping.
