Does anyone know what this is? Could it be a listening device or camera. Maybe a fire alarm or smoke detector? Thanks.

Might be a smoke/heat detector or Co2 detector if your home has a garage then it might very well be that.

Dont know if you still want to know. But thats a motion/presence detector for the lights.

The middle part is infrared motion detection, the 2 holes at the side are for acoustic detection (so the lights wont go out if you are not moving enough for the infrared to detect)

The black part is a window for the remote so you can set the delay and such via a ir remote.
