Free practice pc

Hello I am new here and didnt know if its the right place to post this. I have been getting into pcs lately and I am really curious about the experience of building one. I dont currently have a need for a desktop. My idea was to get a cheap or free old desktop pc that boots (I dont care how old it just needs to be able to boot) so I can take it apart and put it back together, boot screen signaling the completed task. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could come across such a pc?

Check local buy/swap/sells, car boot sales, garage sales, PC recycling shops, online trading sites, etc.

Any local place selling old stuff. Recycling centers, classifieds etc. With quick check on my local site, cheapest stuff is €20. Considering that recycling centers take electronics off ones hand for free, one could try to make same offer and go to pick those up. Saves gasolin price for that trip.
