Dual Single Channel?

Let's say that my budget only allows me to buy 1 DDR4 4gb ram stick, and i want to buy in a close future 4gb more, if i buy the exact same model and plug it in, will it work as dual channel?

With a CPU like that, you'd really benefit from going dual channel to start with as the GPU will be starved otherwise.

1x8gb now and 2x8gb later.  4gb of ram in that PC will be useless.

 

2200g will reserve 512mb-1gb of RAM for GPU use, so you will only have ~3gb of ram for Windows.

What are you planning to do with this PC?

If you go 2200G, I'd go 2x4GB. Single channel is not an option.

 

Back a step, what's budget, in what currency/locality? What uses? I recognise the budget might be tight from the posts so far, but we're just guessing beyond that.

Buy a used i7-2600 system and slap a RX 560 or GT 1050 in it.  You should be able to do this for ~$250.

It will perform better and come with 8gb of ram.
