The problem is usually the CPU bottlenecking the GPU not the other way around, the correct view here is that the i7 7700K would use the GTX 780 to it's full extension.

 

But that does mean you could grab a better GPU still using the 7700K for better gaming experience.

Hell no m8. I have both a GTX770 and a 1050Ti and they are pretty equal with the 1050Ti having a slight edge because it's newer. 

 

 

But on topic: yeah the 780 will Bottleneck the 7700k but luckily not the other way around.
