Cpu at 100% while idle

So my i3 jumps to 100% when I first boot, I check task manager and it says system is using %40 percent then my PC is laggy while using my mouse and CPU idles at 70-80%. Please help!

it seems like you have some virus on ur pc. check the programs that are using all of your CPU in task manager. @AirSocial

by System you mean "System Idle Process" ? that's not CPU usage ignore that one, it's the opposite of your CPU usage, so for example if your CPU usage is 0%, System Idle Process will say 100%, if its 1%, then it will be 99% etc etc

 

look for other processes that are using your CPU

 Ok So i checked my BIOS, it was at F2 when the most current version is F11. This was strange since I remember updating to at least F7. So I started to do the BIOS Updated. My PC Crashed during it. My PC wouldn't boot. I took out the HDD,SSD,Ram,Gpu  everything I could. Nothing. I put the ram back in. It booted back to bios. I tho I bricked my system. I was honestly about to cry. Now im back in windows and my system is perfectly fine. Cpu usage at less than 10%. I guess it was since BIOS was out of date.

what kind of games/programs start up when you turn on your computer? have you been cleaning out your temp files... etc etc...

If you read the post I said that "System" was using over 50%

You statement is a paradox ..it contradicts itself.

 

You cant be idle while doing somthing.

You CPU cant be 'idle' if its above 0% usage.

 

Now if u mean, ur system is 'suposed' to be idle, but ur CPU is chugging along doing 'somthing', then its likely u have a backgroudn process running, posisbly a virus.

Its back to normal but discord, voicemod (I use to troll friends), Gigabyte appcenter, and thats really it.

discord likes your ram, voicemod depends on which one you use gigabyte appcenter acts like minecraft when booting up

Lol, All I care about now is that its normal again. I need appcenter to help with bios updates, I dont really need voicemod but I LIKE it and discord is the same. But I like it more.

If possible, you should be looking for any malware that is potentially mining cryptocurrency in the background. From my past experiences, this is a common sign of such a problem.

Looks like there are some viruses in your PC get a good antivirus and try to scan also closes the startup programs

you can disable them Booting Up with your computer but it just takes a little longer for them to "turn on" then just having them to start up when you turn on the computer

the windows 10 is strong enough.. he doesn't need two anti malware running at the same time. That would just bottle neck help him when he is using it. he could do a full scan search that would take over an hour and the windows 10 anti-malware already inside his computer should be able find any bull inside his computer. i understand the safety of extra anti malware but i would like to point out that it give him a hard time just to log in and two anti malware going at once would lock up his pc.

What are your CPU temps?

Its in i3-8100 so it stays really cool. I also have an aftermarket cooler.
