BLack screen after installing new gpu

Brother in law  Spilt something and fried the  gpu. Installed a brand new RX560 into brother in laws computer and still a black screen, like cant even see it post.   I tested the gpu in a nother computer and it works fine. Yes it is getting power, as the fan is spinning while computer is on, just black screen. Ram is also fine. Could it be the motherboard?

Absolutely could be the motherboard.

 

I'd try a different PCI slot ( assuming it has one ) - if it still doesn't work I'd assume motherboard PCI lanes are dead.

As Guru SorcierX said, your PCIe slot must be busted so try a different slot and if it still happens then the mobo is fried and you need to RMA it.

I cannot possibly imagine how this could even remotely happen.

 

Tho I do use my TV to dry clothes on and I bring my audio receiver and floor standing speakers in my shower to jam out, but I'm still stumped.

LOL .... some people put their PCs under their desk ( which they put liquids on ) and then spill stuff on them. I've seen people use their PC case as a cup holder before so, yeah that's a thing.

At this point, I'd consider the board dead or at least the PCI lanes.
