I’m not looking at a specific headset but I’ll check out what you suggested to me. I have a pair of wireless ps4 platinum 7.1 headset I haven’t used yet. Would those be good enough or can I do better?

If you wan't audophile pro studio headphones they are stereo.  What you need is HP's that will be loud and not sound like a toy and a good bass.  I recommend these if you want mic on it too.  You can also check out the SteelSeries 7.1 DTS HP's.  They are very popular and will give you a good sound and not a toy sound. Here is the link SteelSeries 7.1 DTS HP's

Sooooo I know nothing about the world of Audio so please bare with me lol I’m fully aware that current motherboards have sound boards for our headphones, but I’m looking for a much better sound experience for gaming. Not saying what I have no me is bad but I’m willing to shell out cash for a much better crisp sound quality. When I saw the EVGA Nu audio sound card it got me into looking deeper into this. So I just want to be steered in the right direction whether if it’s getting an amp/dac or simply buying a better pair of headphones. (Mic not needed). So thank you in advance for your help :)

Depending on your motherboard, the onboard audio chip is more than capable of producing fantastic sound to quality speakers and receivers.

Btw, if it can send good sound to headphones, it can send good sound to speakers.  Headphones aren't default shit, they can be more amazing than full range floor standers.

Like jsturdrawa said onboard sound has come a long way.  Unless you are a audiophile or you run a DAW, there is no reason to buy a sound card honestly.  You will not notice a difference in sound quality with onboard or PCI sound card.  So no worries stick to the onboard sound and spend your money on HP's.  Do you want stereo HP's or surround and what not ?

Your onboard can do 7.1 surround.  What speakers or HP's are you looking at ?  What is your price range for a 7.1 virtual surround HP.  Razer Tiamat is really good, just plug into usb and off you go.  It is not the most professional sounding, but if your not a hardcore audiophile and just love loud sound and bass you will not notice difference.  If you want another company brand, let us know what that is and we can give you advice on that.

I’m not looking at a specific headset but I’ll check out what you suggested to me. I have a pair of wireless ps4 platinum 7.1 headset I haven’t used yet. Would those be good enough or can I do better?
