Fans started spinning backwards after 2 weeks

So I grabbed this PC from Walmart for an extremely good price. Brought it home, checked it out and it seemed fine. Didn't touch it for about a month then one day I downloaded a big game and had played it for 4-6+ hours a day without a single issue. Then 2 days ago, I started it up and it was making crazy loud noise and vibrating pretty bad. I looked and the 1 non RGB fan was running backwards and trying to stop. So I turned if off, researched and found quite cruelly I might add,  "this cant happen" without putting the plug in wrong or other user related/created problems.

I haven't touched this PC other then plugging it. To keep a long story short, while testing what I was reading, I noticed that it seems to run normal on the 3rd start up, like clockwork, 2 failures(running backwards making noise) but the 3rd starts up quite and runs quite for hours with no issue.

The only thing I can think of that maybe the issue is somehow the RGB remote maybe tripping something causing this, if that's even possible. I say that because its the only thing I've done to the PC other then turn it on, was change the colors with the remote. I purchased an replacement an insignia replacement from best buy just to be safe but wanted to ask here before I changed any parts.

What could cause this? Fan just went bad? Is there anything I should look for when swapping fans? If after they are swapped out and it still happens what could be the cause? TIA

Just replace the fans and you should be good.  THe motherboard doesn't spin the fans backwards.  This is a defective unit with bad fans that's all.

Just be happy it wasn't the CPU HSF ya know.  What size are the busted fans ?  If you need help deciding on what fans to get let me know.

Thanks, That's what I was hoping. I wanted to upgrade to Corsair RGBs since I had an empty slot and now was the perfect time but I was concerned the problem maybe bigger and burn it out so I picked up a cheap replacement to ensure it was just a bad unit

Your good man, no worries,, Im glad as I said it wasn't the CPU HSF or the video card fan / fans.  Let me know if you need fan advise.

Yeah, no kidding. Glad it was just a simple intake fan. I was starting to be concerned it maybe a bigger issue and wanted to make sure I checked everything on my first adventure into the guts of it all. Not a bad deal though for $210 + $10 fan fix.

I may end up getting 2 fans soon to fill the empty slots. Always open to suggestions. My only worry with that was the power supply being affected by that upgrade. I've read Cyberpowers are known for bad power sups or its always the first thing people replace when they get one
