Cloud storage vs yet another external drive?

It's for my music files, so at least 1TB.

 

pCloud seems the best according to review websites, but it's sort of expensive. $128 CDN per year, which is basically $20-30 more than an external HDD...

 

 

Desktop 1: 7800x3d @ stock, 64gb DDR5 @ 6000, Asus 5090 Astral OC, x670 Asus Strix

 

Basement TV Desktop: 7800x3d @ stock, 64gb DDR5 @ 6000, 4080 Super, x670 Asus Strix

Googles drive storage is incredibly cheap for 1TB+

Why not get a cheap NAS and have both? Your own cloud/network storage and therefore also external storage? 

 

Something like the Synology DS218 will easily do if it's just for music. A single 4TB drive is around $120 rn. Add a second one for redundancy and you're good to go.

Slightly more expensive than pCloud ($2?) but with the latter you get 2TB.
