how far have the apu caught up with gpu performance?

dgsddfgdfhgs

Just curious looking back at how competitive apu recently

back in those days, I used apu on i5 2500 and the experience was a nightmare even looking at blurry words and win7.

I know ryzen apus are great ~ having gtx750ti / gt1030.

what about on intel HD630 and snapdragon 845 or coming 855? what are there comparative gpu?

The big barrier for APU performance is memory bandwidth. GPUs need a lot more memory bandwidth than CPUs, and typical dual-channel DDR4 system memory just can't get you more than low-end performance.

don't take intel's igpu seriously, its meant for just a display driver, nothing serious.

Ryzen APu's at best is on par with gtx1030 / RX550, it's a serious gaming apu (in low though).

They however can give you better if they want to, like how they give vega 20 to intel, but it will canibalize their gpu market.

I'm very curious to see what the rumoured navi based APUs look like or if they're even true, might have to build a rig to leave at home for the wife to stream/emulate from.  Or do I upgrade to a zen 2 cpu and give her my 2600x and the 1060 6gb in the closet..  Priorities haha.

This rumor now sounds very promising!

with 20 cu apu , we might see gtx1050 (ti) soon thats why we dont see any budget gpu right now and skipped to rx590 directly
