GTA Suddenly started lagging

GTA suddenly started lagging I dont know why. I use to get 60 fps with high/very high settings now now even on low settings I get 7 Fps 

CPU - I3 6100 3.7Ghz

RAM - 8 Gb

Motherboard - ASUS H110M-K (LGA1151)

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

HDD - 1Tb Wester Digital

open up task manager to see usage of these two. , both too week to play gta.

textures loading too slow when driving?

post screenshot of task manager performance tab and processes tab while playing gta. also, windows version?

CPU - 71%

HDD - 1%

i  dont understand how its took weak for GTA when like month ago it was running perfectly fine high setting 60 Fps

I can run other demanding games like battlefield 1 perfect but not GTA Its werid and annoying

as said, cpu is relatively weak. but seems more likely you messed up with ingame settings

I reset everything to defaults still lags, set everything very low still 7fps. It doesn’t wake since how last month I was playing gta on the same CPU at high settings 60fps and all of sudden starts running bad makes no since

that.... is a *single* core processor??? how the hell are you using that??? im surprised it runs any aaa games at all. that cpu is looooonnnggggg overdue for an upgrade.

i was about to get all snarky and point out that you can set task manager to show a combined graph...

 

until I saw "Sockets 1"... "CPU's 1"... "Cores 1".... 

 

um what the hell man. somethings broken here. 

 

I'm pretty confident that the 6100 shoul be a dual core with 4 threads. 

 

so whatever the heck is causing THAT to happen, is likely your culprit. your CPU is bottlenecking GTA like a beast because well, it thinks you have a single CPU Core.

Why do I have a single CPU core that makes no since. Is there anyway to fix it?

Its suppost to be a dual core nor 1 core why caused this?

I'm at a complete loss as well! that is a dual core CPU. why only 1 core is showing and no 2nd thread at all is beyond me.

 

the only place I can think of looking is your Bios to make sure there's no wonky settings in there. if you can't easily find anything out of the norm, a restore to defaults on your bios might help

 

 

having only 1 core total could cause a lot of the weird behaviour you're experiencing, especially in games. GTA isn't all that efficient, and probably getting bottlenecked like crazy when it needs to really hit the CPU

Thx guys i found the solution by myself.

What i did was:
Open run
type msconfig
went to the boot tab
then selected advanced options
then there was a check mark to select number of processors
the check mark was checked and even though it was selected at 2 cores
i unchecked the mark and restarted
and done

THX guys for all your help, but i dont know how those settings got changed in msconfig.
