It's been several years since I upgraded my video card. My current  ATI Saphire HD 3850 card is past it's prime to say the least. I'm not partial to AMD or NVIDIA.

Going to buy new only from online or in store. Less than $200 USD. If I don't have to spend the whole 200 all the better. I just want a decent card i cant watch movies, play CS or just internet. Thanks. Here is what I am currently using:

  • CPU
    Intel - Core i5-3570K 3.4 GHz Quad-Core
  • Motherboard
    Asus - P8Z77-V LX ATX LGA1155
  • RAM
    Corsair - Vengeance 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3-1600
  • GPU
Saphire Radeon HD 3870 w/ ZALMAN VF700-CU cooler
  • Storage
    Western Digital - Caviar Blue 320 GB 3.5" 7200RPM
  • PSU
    Corsair - CX 500 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular
  • Display(s)
    Asus - VW246H 24.0" 1920x1080

Forgot to list it: I'm using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.

Thanks for the help.

So, to start, all of the counter strike games are CPU intensive, not GPU intensive, so the GPU won't give you a huge boost depending on the settings you play.

Definitely the best value card at $200 USD is the RX 580 8gb. It's a great card for 1080p and is right at the GTX 1060 6gb performance.

I should have read more in details on forum rules also. Like if a certain place had card for this amount. Is against the rules.

Why would it be against the rules? What marketplace are you buying it from? This card costs around $200 USD so you don't have to do anything shady to get it at that price.

Oh, i misunderstood it. I thought the rules meant that you couldn't, for example : "Newegg is selling video card A for $220.

If you know of a great deal please let me know. I found the Hot Deals section, but nothing recent.

That'd be kinda silly, but all good. You're in the USA, right?

As you already know, there is a 'Deal' section...but providing some recommendations is perfectly fine.

The big no-no is advertising your own classified links or eBay links.

We have a classified section, too.

Anything in the ~$75+ range would be a MAJOR upgrade over your Radon HD 3870, without a doubt.

The maximum performance you can get, new, for $200 would a the RX-580...like these:

There is also a 4GB version of the RX-580, but it is not much cheaper (if cheaper at all) compared to the 8GB variant.

Other cheaper options you can look at (lower performance compared to the RX-580 and GTX 1060)

  • RX-570
  • RX-560
  • GTX 1050 Ti
  • GTX 1050
  • GTX 750 Ti -- older model card, but still pretty decent for it's used price value

AMD Ryzen 9000 Rig

  • AMD R7 9800X3D + Alphacool CORE 1 w/ Performance Mount Kit + Thermal Grizzly AM5 Contact Frame
  • Gigabyte X870E Aorus Pro Ice
  • 32GB (16GB X2) G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5-6400
  • Sapphire NITRO+ 6800 XT Special Edition + EKwb Full Cover Block
  • Custom Loop w/ 2x 360mm Radiators
  • WD SN850X + WD SN750 + Samsung 980
  • EVGA P2 850W + Red/White CableMod Cables
  • Lian-Li O11 Dynamic EVO XL

I assume this is the one you found on Newegg, it's a solid deal. Sapphire makes the best AMD cards in my (and lots of other people) opinion.
