Pretty much stuck with used one for that price. Try finding an M11x or something. I picked one up for $400 a few years ago. Mint condition, with box and a ton of extras.

$300 isn't going to get you very far. You should probably save up and buy when you have more money if you can.

I know, but its all he's got.

you'll get a potato on that budget

Agreed

Then reccomend me something else

Buy a used laptop and modify to your spec

Thinking about doing it.

Also, does he really need a laptop? How often is he taking it around with him? $300 could get you a M-ATX desktop that can play Minecraft somewhat decently.

Save up and then get a desktop or maybe a latop. If you get a desktop then you can do it without an OS.(LINUX)

I would say chromebook, but that can not play minecraft. His best bet is to buy a used one, or save up for something a little better. 500 - 600 is a great range for powerful windows laptops, but clearly that is not an option.

I would recommend an APU, probably best bang for the budget

You really think he's going to get a dedicated GPU in a laptop for under 300???

Buy something used, your not going to get a beast, but what I can suggest is get something that's a half descent brand. Look for at least a i3, an i5 be nice and a i7 be better. 4Gb would be a minimum that I would suggest. One last thing don't worry about the storage that's in it all ready. I would suggest getting a SDD on some cheap sale and throwing it in to make the laptop screaming fast and that sir is how you create something so good for so little ;)

I meant AMD with integrated graphics, as opposed to intel. - just something to limit the search results
