I don't know what what refresh rates DVI supports, EDIT: Found out it does:  dual-link DVI supports 2560×1600. DVI is capable of 144hz refresh rates

but make sure you're using ACTIVE adapters when using more than one monitor.

Hello,

so I recently bought a 2080 and because I knew it only had 3 DP and 1 HDMI I bought 3 adapters for my 3 monitors with it. My main monitor only supports DVI, HDMI and VGA so I bought a DVI-D (Dual Link) adapter. I plugged the DVI-D cable from my monitor into a DVI-D to DP adapter (https://amzn.to/2AW4TDs < This one) but it didn't work. The monitor flashed a couple of times and said: "Incorrect cable . Please use the dual link DVI cable that came with your monitor". I was confused because I used the cable which came with the monitor.I also noticed 1 pin is lower than the other ones (on both ends). Do I have to use a active DVI-D to DP adapter?

Thanks for your help.

"Supports Deep Color, 10.8 Gbps bandwidth and resolutions up to 1080p at 60 Hz"

You need an active adaptor for 144Hz
