HeyGuys

I was thinking about to get the 2700 as new cpu, but im not sure if I should wait like ~6 months til amd release the new cpu's.  My cpu atm is a i5-4690k  which is pretty bad for trying to make animations and gamedesign and streaming at the same time.

My idea was to get the 2700 in ~2weeks ( on my bday) and skip the ryzen 3000 cpu's and then use it til ryzen 4000 since amd supports am4 until 2020.

Since I want to stream too, I want to stream in min. 720P source and sadly with my cpu atm I can only stream csgo, in a bad 480P quality.  I would love to stream rb6, OW and other games.

My max. budget would be 900€ and I live in Austria ( EU, cows no kangaroos :D )

If you can wait to get a newer CPU, I would.

If you need one now, then get a 2700/x.

I can wait sure, but at the same time I want finally a good pc.

You could get a ryzen 2600 (or 2600x) right now with a nice x470 board, then get Zen 2 (ryzen 3000) in half a year. It's going to fit into the same AM4 socket so you can plop a new CPU in when it comes out. If you want to spend more money now, you can get a 2700x or 2700 (the 2700x stock cooler is fucking awesome).

x470 is a waste of money if the usb ports arent needed

Yeah, you're right. Though, maybe OP wants to do some overclocking and take advantage of some X470 features? Plus, a good X470 board has good power delivery which would be ideal if a higher core/thread count CPU is what he picks in the future.

It's OP's choice though.

So does B450. It's a very common misconception that X470 boards somehow have better VRMs than B450 boards. Only the highest tier x470's (taichi etc.) have better VRMs than their B450 counterparts, and those boards are usually reserved for extreme (ln2) oc'ing, which anyway is extremely cost ineffective.

I want to OC my cpu ofc, depends on the cpu tho, and if im not mistaken amd will only support x470 til 2020.

Yeah, I remember. Don't some of the B450 boards get into X470 price ranges, though? I can't remember that right now.

They're supporting the socket type, AM4, until 2020.
