144 hz problem... Rtx cards...

Hey guys. So my RTX 2080 strix should be here in a few days but there is a problem :( I have the benqxl24 144hz monitor and it dosnt have displayport, it only has a VGA port and i used to use that in order to get 144hz with my older 1070ti card. But as you know the Rtx cards do not have VGA and the only way to get over 60hz is via Displayport... What should i do? Please help ASAP

I think there might be active adapters (but are you sure it's VGA and not DVI?) that can do that... but begs the question, why did you order a 2080 knowing your monitor has the ports but not planning to replace that as well?

Display port to DVI adaptor, make sure it's dual link

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

That's only single link DVI. There shouldn't be a gap in the middle between the two blocks of pins.

Are you sure it's actually dual link? It says 1080p max and dual link DVI can do 1440p 60.

Good point, although I noticed it's DVI-I so it might refer to the analog signal. Also, DVI-I might not work in OP's port so scratch that.

No it's definitely DVI-D. There are no analog pins, though you are right that DVI-I would not work on an RTX 2080 (DVI-D only)

Im gonna try to sell my BenqXl2411 and buy a budget 144hz monitor that has a displayport. Thanks for the help

DP-DVI-D adapters only work up to 120Hz. Not 144Hz.
