MatLab on a Chromebook?

I am a second semester engineering student and we I have a course in which I need MatLab on my laptop. My laptop is a Chromebook (I'll leave a link to the model at  the end) and I just found out I can't install MatLab on it. Is there any way I could install Windows or Linux on it so that I could install MatLab that way? I think spec wise it should be fine to run it.

Could you use Octave instead? It has Android version which you could install. By quick glance there are possibilities of installing version of Ubuntu to Chromebook, but thats far out of my understanding, or interest.

I have to use MatLab for my class, so no I can't use Octave, leaving me with the only option of trying to install an OS that MatLab supports. Thanks for the help though.

Heard Google might be bringing Linux support to Chrome OS. Though that was supposedly announced in 2018, there have already been official workarounds that have been used for a while.

Crouton is essentially a VM that runs in Chrome OS, it may work if you have the speed and space for it.

Google's official version of this is still just a rumor but apparently a work in progress.

I don't have any experience with this solution personally I was just doing some research for myself and came across this post. If it works let me know!
