Possible First PC build

Hi guys,

I just joined the forums yesterday and have been gaining a lot of interest in building my first pc.

Although I may not be doing that till much later in 2019 or possibly 2020, I just want to ask what you guys think of the parts I've been thinking about.

Intel build:

CPU: i5-8600k or i5-9600k

Cooler: Cooler Master - Master liquid ML240L or 120L

Mobo: MSI - MPG Z390 GAMING EDGE AC

Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory

SSD: Samsung 860 Evo 500GB

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB

GPU: An RTX 2060 or 2070

Case: NZXT H500 or Cooler Master MasterCase H500P

PSU: EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 750W 80+ Gold

Ryzen build:

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X

Cooler: Cooler Master - Master liquid ML240L or 120L or stock cooler

Mobo: Gigabyte - X470 AORUS GAMING 5 WIFI

Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory

SSD: Samsung 860 Evo 500GB

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB

GPU: An RTX 2060 or 2070

Case: NZXT H500 or Cooler Master MasterCase H500P

PSU: EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 750W 80+ Gold

And of course Windows 10 for either build.

This is just in the planning stages right now, the parts may change after seeing benchmarks for AMD's new GPUs/CPUs later through the year.

But I'm tempted to get an RTX card before the current promotion ends.

Because another reason why I want to build my first PC is because I want to play Anthem.

Also since I'm not from the States or anywhere that has these parts readily available at affordable prices, I'm not sure whether I can get an RTX card along with the Anthem gift...

I can buy online from sites like PBTech but I don't think they include the free Anthem gift with the RTX cards they have in stock.

I live in the South Pacific so vendors from Australia or New Zealand will be more preferred for me.

I will have to check with the only store I can find locally whether they will get any RTX cards anytime soon.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

David.

if you are building in late 2019-early 2020, it does not make much sense to plan now. More promotions will come, and new product will be released.

I would not advice you to buy an expensive GPU now for a game that you won't be playing for another 6-12 months. There is a possibility that prices drop or a very good new GPU launches for less money, meaning you can buy the game and the GPU for less than the promotion is right now. Also games have discounts.

Yes I was also thinking about that. I guess the waiting game is better. But I really want to start playing Anthem once it's launched. So torn at the moment...

I'm also interested in the gen 3 Ryzen CPUs.

I guess a little waiting wouldn't hurt.
