My mobo is a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3, so what im wondering is if the sound card will give me better audio or not? I record gamplay lots so also would the mic i have be better out of a sound card?

i mean if it's laying around you might as well

pick what sounds better for yourself

I still have an SB0220 laying around here somewhere being useless. Maybe if my onboard breaks somehow one day.

The Sound Blaster Live! includes Creative PlayCenter with a full 320kbps encoder and 9X MP3 acceleration, making it fast and easy to create, customize and listen to quality MP3/WMA files. With the ability to connect to Dolby Digital and multi-channel digital speaker systems or analog audio devices, you can experience true 5.1 surround sound with all PC audio entertainment.

lololol nope.

You could always put it in and see what the mic sounds like compared to your on board, it's only going to cost you time and effort.

Those things used to be the duck's nuts back in the day, the rear channels used wolfson DACs that were considered to be close to the best of any pc solution and they were on a card that was not even close to premium in it's pricing.
