Nvidia with Freesync

I am a bit confused because I was playing around with my monitor settings and I am not sure if this is good what I've done
To keep it short:
I have the Samsung S27F350FHU Monitor which comes with freesync and a so called "Game Mode". This mode seems to activate freesync but also pushes to 72hz. Since I am using the gtx 1080ti I am not sure if freesync will get me any negative effect? Because I would like to use the 72hz. Win10 and games recognise the Monitor as 72hz. While playing everything is looking good so I don't think I need to worry?
Thanks!
As far as I know the driver that enables Nvidia cards to use Freesync will be released tomorrow. If your monitor is not approved by Nvidia you will have to turn on this feature yourself. I'd say download the driver and compare with Freesync on and off, then pick whichever looks and feels best.
