Rig upgrade help

Lunchbox35

Ok I am upgrading my rig and want to know if this build out looks good. I have never overclocked but may look into it. I would also like to know if this is the best mobo choice and should I just do an 8700K. I have watched every video and search through past posts here, but having a hard time making a decision. Any advice if maybe and AIO instead. Thanks for your help.

I'd replace the board with one of those Gigabyte Z390 Aorus boards (except the ITX board) and memory to one of the cheapest 3000MHz CL15/16 kits with 2 8GB sticks.

The board change because Asus overpriced stuff, the Z390-E is worth at best $150 but nope they sell it at $230. WTF imo. The memory stick change because there's little performance loss (and there's a chance you can do 3200MHz on those) with a decent cost drop.

If you are overclocking, which you should since it is a K processor. I would say use AIO.

if you actually checked benchmarks, you'll find out how well big heatsinks compare to AIO liquid coolers.

Don't listen to the comment above. That Noctua cooler you picked is one of the best, and better than a lot of liquid coolers. If you want an AIO I would go Corsair. Don't get that Asus mobo. Get an Aurus board, they are better. I would also try to get a better SSD to go with it. If you get the 8700k (maybe a different cooler like dark rock pro 4) that extra money could go towards an SSD. Also you don't need to spend that much on RAM, like Jurrunio said.
