Bought a ssd from eBay and it came in a box that had a sticker saying “not for retail sale”. It is a genuine Samsung 1tb 860 evo. Is it somehow different than a “for retail sale” version? I’m going to install it in place of the 1tb hdd that came in my HP Omen 15 laptop and was curious.

It started out as a shitty prefab. Still shitty but better now. Lol.

I did get the same box when i bought my 860 EVO 500GB from a local PC shop here, but i couldn't find anything different, it had 0GB usage recorded, and it had 0 on the time it was powered ON, so i was the first to plug it in, but strange nonetheless though.. performance is also solid.

 

I wouldn't advise you share your S/N online, don't know what can someone do with it, but i'm just saying..
