New GPU

Hi im currently running an:

CPU i7 4790

Mobo Msi b85m p33 v3

RAM 16 GB DDR3 HyperX

GPU Asus 750 Ti

PSU 600W

 

Im thinking about upgrading my GPU wich one of these 1060 3GB or RX 580 8GB.

Im confused about the performance and the cooling solution of the rx580 wich is an armor edition.

I mostly play CS GO, Rainbow Six Siege, League of Legends and sometimes AAA tittles. 

I um upgrading to a 1080p 144hz freesynq monitor, but as we now know the green team is going to support freesynq aswell.

Don't get the 1060 3gb, that card sucks because of it's lack of VRAM. Get the rx 580 8gb. Don't get the MSI armor edition, though. That card's cooler stinks.

i was thinking about the armor edition cuz its only 279 euros. What about the dual? I have a 250 euro cuppon to use on this shop otherwise i could get a lot better deals

i would get 1060 6gb over 580 because its more efficient (and you can oc to match perf)

dont get 3gb version for the love of god

i wouldn't buy this card...the heatsink is ridiculously thin and light and it doesn't provide enough cooling...it,s a loud hot running card...get a better one.

The armor cooler is actually terrible, don't buy it.

i have 250 euros to use in that shop. I bought an xbox one s there but then i realized it is terrible and i returned it. They gave the the cuppon to use in their shop

How much are you willing to spend outside the coupon? Or are you trying to use the coupon on one card.

That's a great card. The RX 580 is better value since it performs the same for less money than the 1060, but this situation is a little different since you have a coupon. I'd recommend the 1060 6gb gaming x if you're ok with paying a little extra.

this is a nice graphics card for 1080p gaming high settings.

If you plan on getting a rx580 I would recommend XFX or Sapphire, they are kind of the EVGA of the red team

you should get the rx580. I like NVIDIA gpus but the 3gb is not that good so get a rx 580

$30 can be very different depending on the consumer. $30 is a lot for me as a student.

i am a student too. the thing is with only 3gb of vram, if you want to play modern aaa games, you will have to turn quality down even if the actual gpu can handle it. the higher quality textures will choke the vram so you are wasting performance of the 1060. 

basically: spend extra $30 now, and you wont have to upgrade for a while

or save $30 and you will have to turn quality wayyy down for aaa games and then upgrade the gpu sooner

I didn't say get the 3gb. The 580 is the best value, I actually told him to buy the 1060 6gb since he has a coupon. I'm sure he's already bought it, no worries. All the OP's choice.
