I'm looking for something in $1500 to $2500 range. A thin laptop 13 or 14 inches, i7 (or anything else powerful with at least 4 true cores) Preferably 16GB ram, but can work with 8.

Touchscreen not required and not desirable.

Thanks a lot.

Location as in where to buy from? US or UK, don't mind. Usage: excel with 5 to 10 open sheets with a couple hundred rows and columns in each sheet. Also a quite a CPU demanding accounting specific program.

Battery life: not essential (been using a laptop with a dead one for like a year) 4+ hours would be nice tho.

Thanks a lot.

+1 for Dell XPS 13. I'm about to buy one myself.  For some reason, if you buy from the business side, you can get 16GB of RAM.  The 1080p display is without a touch screen.  Pay very, very careful attention to the processor though.  The i5-8250U and the i7-8550U are benchmarking very similarly.  Both are 4 core hyperthreaded processors, the i7 has a little more cache and a little more clock speed, but I've seen benchmarks where the i7 is only running 2-8% faster, and Dell wants another $250 for it.

Definetly regular. Suitable for an office.

You don't have to spend so much actually, might want to lower down your budget (too much options)

Are you fine with low sRGB display?
