Hard drive and data question

Ok here is my question.  In my xbox one s I have a 2 tb hdd.  I am wanting to switch to a ssd but the xbox uses sata 2 connection.  Is it worth it to upgrade to the ssd with a higher read speed but over a slower connection cable.  Or should I just get a enclosure and run it over sata 3 to USB 3.0.
