I want to remove both HD cages from my R4 to improve airflow and was thinking of mounting my HD to the case floor, possible ?  Also I really like the SSD cages by Corsair, do you think I could order them and mount them in the case ?  Here is a link to the cages - http://www.corsair.com/en/parts/case-parts/350d-2-ssd-cage-kit.html

Those are 2.25" drive cages, you need 3.25"

If you want, you can remove both cages and mount the HDD on the floor, the HDD has 4 screw holes on the buttom, you will need to drill the case.

They are 2.5" cages for SSD's   ...I am going to find a way to mount them below the optical drive or on the bottom of the case.  Then depending on where that goes I will mount that HD to the bottom somewhere.

Just remove the top one, that's what i did

Like I said above - I want to remove both trays.

Yeah it's possible but you'll have to drill holes for your harddrive or hold it down another way. I removed all of my drive cages and tried to do the same thing, but there's nothing to mount the harddrive onto without modifications.

What about putting the HDD in the 5.25" bay, or do you have two DVD players?

If I remember correctly the R4 comes with the bracket to put a drive up there... It might be up there and you don't even know about it.

As for the SSD cages, I would just double sided tape them down. It would be secure enough to keep it from sliding around and vibrations don't matter to a SSD, then you could easily remove it without any holes in the case.
