Anyone got experience of running 9900K on Hero X (Z370)?

ive currently got an Watercooled 8700k @ 5Ghz (4.8AVX) / Hero X

 

contemplating putting a 9900k on there as i believe they're compatible in the new BIOS revisions. Anyone got any practical experience of this combination, can the power delivery on the Hero X keep up with the chip? I'd not be wanting to sacrifice any single core performance over my currently setup so would want at least 5.0/4.8AVX

I'm fairly certain you absolutely need a Z390 board for the 9900K.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Do you really need the upgrade if single thread is what you focus there will be no noticeable difference.

You don't, all Z370 are compatible on the latest BIOS, you just shouldn't because there's a lot of bad Z370 VRM and Power Phases solution wise... specially for an overclocked i9 9900K

definitely don't need it which is why ive resisted the urge to get the credit card out, but i probably will end up getting one at some point "just because"

It's a waste of money then, don't bother.

 

If you just like upgrading for the sake up upgrading wait till next year It's 2019 already kek I mean by the end of they year. When Intel is finally bringing 10nm processors to compete with Mainstream 5ghz ready 16c/32t Ryzen 9 line up.
