Strange audio problems...

Magogan

I have re-installed Windows because it got corrupted and wouldn't boot and now I'm facing audio problems...

I have an AVR connected via HDMI and everything was fine for years. But now whenever there is silence for a few (15-20) seconds, Windows will shut off the HDMI audio stream, which then shuts off the AVR (partly). When there is sound again, it takes a few seconds until the AVR is fully operational. I'm not only not hearing the sound I should hear for a few seconds, it also makes that switching noise everytime it shuts on and off. It's so annoying.

I'm also hearing a crackling noise sometimes... Strange...

What can I do?

Cheers,

Magogan
