Damn Winter

So people, Winter is upon us.

 

To this, people may reply "No shit, Sherlock" however, today is the first time I've realised the signs of us being in a wintery grip.

I was walking home today in the mild temperature of 2°c, minding my own business, whe it suddenly struck me that winter is upon us.

 

I know, in New York and other places in the US, the temperature is really cold, but I'm British, which automatically qualifies me to constantly complain about the weather.

 

Such an irrelevant topic to post on a tech forum maybe, alas, off topic parts exist for a reason.

 

 

So. Down to business. Do you have any wintery tales that you can share with us, or maybe you too could join me in complaining about the weather.

 

Also, I decided to take some snaps on the way home, so that you can see how much my area made me feel like it was a nordic forest.

 

 

The sun won't rise much furthur than this today. A sign of winter in the North.

 

One of the views from my walk home, the field nearby my village. The trees are bare.

 

The National Trust woods near a nearby farm. This looks like a nordic woodland; there is barely any colour.

 

Picture of my foot next to some shrubbery. My feet are duly worn out after 5 miles.

 

On other notes, seeing others complain about the seriousness of the forum made me think 'Why not post something more down to earth and real rather than the usual on this forum, G-Sync bull, Fanboyism, Religion, Mantle speculation, and complaining that the forum is going to the shitter'.

I love winter. The snow can really hide me which I love but sadly I live in Florida so we get hit by cold for like 2 days and back to summer weather.

It doesn't really get THAT cold here in 'Murica/New England except for certain Artic cold fronts but I'd say it gets cold (Highs in the negative teens Celcius or closer to freezing at some points.) where my cousin live in northern Minnesota. I love winter for it's colder temperature because I'm a heavier guy who sweats a lot (being obese at 250 doesn't help).

Well I live in Norway so I kind of love winter, but oh well

 

I have also willingly subjected myself to whatever cold weather and other cold stuff I can since I was a little child (still a child, but like 4 year old ) so I have completely destroyed the nerves in the places you would normally subject to the weather in the summer (arms and legs mainly) so yeah...

When I am home alone (siblings and parents ain't that fond of the cold ) I'll just open up the all the windows and doors in the house and benchmark my PC to hell The temps is quite astounding when there is winter in Norway

I once brought my PC to my garage, turned it on. It only reached 42 degrees on load. Kind of proud of that

the only issue i have with "British Winters" is you next to never get good snow.. we will get snow once in a while, but its always wet and crappy and melts the following day, i want dry powdery stuff like you get in the states  

 

Also Summers... its always too damn hot or too fricking windy its only 1s in a blue moon that you get a nice summer day where its really lovely hot with a nice gentle breeze

You have to pray the snow gods for temps below 0 degrees centigrade. But then you loose the extremely nice feeling +2 temps

lol in those temperatures we get colds pretty fast.
