screen tearing while streaming

I've asked this before without much answer, but i'm hoping someone can help me with this now.

 

I often get screen tearing when streaming on sites such as hulu, netflix, youtube, etc. Often i can fix it as easily as turning on/off hardware acceleration in settings. For example, in my scenario youtube tends to run better with hardware acc turned on, and netflix/hulu run better when it's turned off. However, some shows on netflix prefer hardware acc turned on. Does anyone know a better, more permanent fix to this?
