I will link a speaker set from AliExpress which is around 5 and a half United States dollars and which does not have the extra sub-woofer which is found on some speaker setups. These are pretty compact for most spaces and are low budget speakers which should work on any system which can support the drivers for the speakers, USB 2.0, and AUX connections.

If you get speakers 2.0 without bass, that tells you right there they are toy speakers.  If you like listening to toy sounds or cant tell the difference then get it, but if you want to be a audiophile then this will not cut the rug.

Get the Logitech 2.1 THX system or just buy those POS ones from above.  Thanks

I think you are mistaken the Logitech Z200s are an excellent show of craftsmanship and quality desktop audio speakers. They're the best speakers that i've had so far.

They're also the only desktop speakers i've had so far.

Also they last a decade and beyond, then come to issues like speaker noise etc etc....... but ya logitech is solid.  You can take it one step higher and get the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 ............. Anyhow as I said I don't suggest toy speakers, and I don't know what your ears are capable of.  I wouldn't touch a 2.0 system if they paid me.

The Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 is way more expensive. I don’t think that the OP is too concerned about getting the best audio out of his desktop. I used the Logitech Z200 for almost a year and they’re absolutely fine. Sure, the audio could be a little less bassy and more detailed but they deliver a lot for the price. The Bose Companion 2 is barely better and triple the price. If you want better audio you’ll have to get a 2.1 system for sure.

Yes he needs 2.1 or its a bust with 2.0 toy speakers and what not.  Maybe toy sounds don't affect him, in which case you can get a pair of speakers 2.0 for 30 dollars.

i am actually an audiophile, i wanted to go for the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 or g560, but my table woudnt allow for the cable from the satellites to go to the subwoofer, thats why im asking for speakers that doesnt have an subwoofer as i cant route the cable in anyway to the subwoofer on the floor, nor do i have space to put a subwoofer on the desk

Those little 2.1's sound like shit, look for a set of small edifier speakers. good  low noise amp mosfets and nice soft sounding paper done woofers in them.  R1280 series is a good mix of budget and decent sound

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

Why can't you use the cable from the satellites to the sub?

Actually their THX certified speakers don't sound like toy … their Z series is pretty good.  Not the best but good enough for most.

Could you post pictures of what is keeping you from routing the cable? I'm having trouble visualizing the problem.

Do you guys have any recommendations for compact desktop speakers that does not have an extra subwoofer? Thanks

if you have the budget, check out these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Audioengine-A2-Powered-Desktop-Speakers-Black/dp/B00DQMJE7E/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1546623897&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=audioengine+a2%2B&psc=1&smid=ANNASRW22SIOH

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

I'm seeing plenty of room for cables going to and from a sub installed in the knee hole of the desk (you would probably need to relocate the trash can and the two storage boxes). You would just have to pull the desk back from the wall a centimeter or so. At the absolute worst, you may have to get extensions for the cables. If the sub can be located on the floor at the end of the desk (I can't see what's on the left end of the desk), you wouldn't even need to move the desk any.

Even if you can't move the desk and the only place you can put the sub is in the knee hole of the desk, you could run the satellite and power cables on the floor tucked in tight to the desk supports to get to either end of the desk. They can be hidden in some kind of raceway, such as Wiremold.

For most 2.1 systems, you would need a cable going from the computer's onboard sound (or a DAC attached to the computer; Dragonfly makes DACs that are dongles that plug directly into a USB port at the back of the computer or into a short cable that plugs into the computer so the dongle dangles, taking up no desktop space) down to the sub (the knee hole of the desk is the most common location for the sub but it can also be located on the floor either side of the desk; I have mine to the left of my desk) then two cables from the sub would run to each satellite speaker (the satellites' amps are in the sub). The sub would also need a power cable to the wall outlet. Satellite speakers can either set on the desk, mounted on stands on the desk to raise them above the desk, or be mounted to the wall (I can't see how wide that window is).

You just have to be creative on how and where to install things. I had to build a fancy dancy bridge over an "inconveniently located" window (polite term; I have more accurate terms for the window but Mama told me not to use those words) and hooks on the wall so I could "wall" mount my satellite speakers, TV, monitors, and a bulletin board, keeping my desk clear and the wiring off the floor. To make room for the sub, I had to get rid of the drawers my printer set on and replace them with a printer stand that fits over the sub.

the thing is my table is connected to the wall and mounted on to the wall, so basically speaking its mounted on to the wall, and i have 3 drawers right in front of my table, if i pull a cable from there it would block my drawer from opening, its only possible if theres a 5 meter cable from the sub to satellites, and same for the power cable, unless it wont be possible for me, and most cables for satellites to the sub. And btw, i already have a desk amp, its just on another table, im currently using a fiio e10k for the desktop and fioo q1 mk 2 for portable

What's on the left side of your desk?

I'm running 4.6m (15') cables from my sub to my speakers and from my computer to the sub without any problems. I also have to use extension cables for the power cables. You just need to make sure the sub and satellites you get can have the cables replaced with longer ones or allow the use of extension cables. I suggest using speakers and a sub that allow the use of XLR cables to avoid interference or other noise but I have used el cheapo zip cord in the past without problems (not everyone gets that lucky, though). The cables running from my computer to the sub are XLR at the sub end and RCA at the computer end. The two RCA plug into a 3.5mm adapter witch then plugs into my USB DAC (a Dragonfly Red). You should be able to use the DAC you already have with different adapters.
