Hey

SO yes, I just bought Terraria... I was wondering if someone could give me a quick rundown on the game? Like what is the goal of it? I know there is an end game boss or what not... But I don't mean to say this but is it Kind of a 2D Minecraft?

Medium or Large map?

How do mods work? Do they disable trophies? I like going for trophies.

Need the rundowns!

Thanks!

Endgame is just a grind. Just like with Minecraft, the huge creatures don't really end the game (the dragon of course brings the credits but you keep going after that) so you really just get as strong as you can until you get bored and try something new.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I guess the goal is to kill all the bosses the game has to offer. I'm not super familiar with Terraira but I know once you kill the wall of flesh (I think it's called) boss the game gets harder with new more difficult bosses/mobs to go out and kill but also better loot to obtain/craft. So the real aim is to get as strong as possible from collecting resources/killing stuff and to then defeat all the bosses.

Lots of people play minecraft for the creation aspect of the game whereas terraria is more of a boss kill focused game, when watching streamers play the game they don't usually create buildings to look good but more to be practical/get npcs to stay there as they offer goods/services that are beneficial

Although you can keep playing once you have defeated all the bosses of course.

Tl;dr

Note: i will be spoiling some things. Though ive kept as much spoiler free as possible.

Spoiler

Mine minerals untill you have a gold pickaxe. And prefferably some armor.

Then kill prehardmode bosses to get crimtane/whatever the purple stuff is called.

Get a pickaxe from that.

Kill the dungeon boss (initate the fight by talking to the guy at the dungeon at night)

Dig to hell

Make a road through hell (just a flat plane to be on, and it needs to be really long)

While you build that long flat road, you will eventually find a voodoo demon. Kill that Demon and get a voodoo doll.

Prep with armor and long range weapons.

Throw the doll into lava to iniate the fight.

You will figure out how the game works by then and i can give more explanations if wanted

Next step will be getting wings (this step takes a while)

Medium or Large map?

Large Map, unless you are rushing to get alternate worlds for your character for specific minerals

Its better than Minecraft (by that i mean there is a lot more content to play with)
