Xbox One X achieving 120hz on Agon AG271QG help

Brianssale2020

As topic suggests Im trying to get 120hz refresh from my xbox one x on my Agon AG271QG monitor. Problem is the monitor only has an hdmi 1.4 port which only supports 60hz. Would an hdmi to DP cable (hdmi in xbox, DP in monitor) be a solution for achieving 120 hz? Not sure it matter but this is all at 2560×1440p. Any help or solution (aside from getting a different monitor as Im quite fond of this one) is much appreciated!

The maximum is 75Hz  @1440p so, you can't get around that with an adapter. Also, and feel free to correct me but, aren't consoles locked at 60Hz?

Even if it could wouldn’t be powerful enough for 1440p at 120fps.

probably not even 1080p at 120fps,

The Xbox One X as of May 2018 is capable of running 120hz refresh rate at 1080 or 1440p. 120hz at 4k is not supported.

Sry for the multiple replies... But hence my issue. My monitors hdmi input is 1.4 (I purchased specifically for my desktop prior to getting the One X so I didnt anticipate needing an hdmi 2.0 input)

From the article:

But even with the feature, don't expect system-wide improvements. Many Xbox One titles are developed with hardcoded frame-rate limits, set between 30Hz and 60Hz. While some games are developed with uncapped frame rates, expect many games to see no changes. We recommend researching your favorite titles for details on frame rate settings.

Even if is capable of it you might want to look for the games you play because they could be hard locked at 30 or 60 FPS by design.

On a side note, damn, I didn't know the Xbox X supported Freesync. That's pretty cool.
