Hello everyone, I recently built my own computer but kept my old GTX 970 as the gpu because I didn't have the money to upgrade that. I now have around $900 to spend max for a new GPU and I am looking for others input on whether I should get a GTX 1080Ti or go for the RTX 2080. My CPU is a i7 9700k so I wouldn't have to worry about bottle necking and my monitor is a Dell S2417DG so I can enjoy the high frame rate and graphical improvements.

Well considering that the 1080Ti isn't being made anymore, the 2080 is your main option. It performs the same as the 1080Ti so you won't notice a difference, unless you're using ray tracing.

A 2080 is a 1080Ti with a $150+ ray tracing tax. If you can find a 1080Ti either new or used for a good price, go for that instead and use the excess money on other upgrades or save it for later. There's a lot of people selling their 1080Ti's on Ebay starting at around $350.
