HT H4500R problems with power outage and slowness

DSD27

Hi, I have a Samsung HT H4500R 5.1Ch 500W. I had it for some time with no problems, but recently, everytime there's a power outage, when I turn it on the volume is at 0, and even after I increase the volume it's very weak. My speaker level calibration gets reset. The speakers get louder after I mess with those settings, but still aren't working properly, the only way to fix is to do a Factory Reset. So, I have to do a factory reset everytime there's a power outage or I disconnect the device from the wall.

Also, recently the Netflix app became slow, sluggish and freezing all the time, (I have a 100Mbps connection throgh cable directly to the router).

What to do? Re-flash the most recent firmware? It seems to me these problems can be caused by some battery gone bad and the hardware not being powerful enough to handle this updated Netflix app...

help would be appreciated, thanks.

yea it definitely isnt saving it settings. but i dont know off hand how the systems save. ive never seen any have any actual battery in them..capacitors yes but not batteries...so maybe the capacitor that holds power for the setting is bad.

the only fix off hand is a battery back up.........without actual schematics for the board and finding what needs replaced (solder time) or actual device replacememnt

reflashing the firmware would be a good start..if your having the issues your having it can possibly corrupt the software

I will do the re-flash. It's a .RUF file, I'm trying to see if there's a way to edit it and remove the useless weather and facebook apps so it becomes lighter...

The portuguese page only has the RUF file https://www.samsung.com/pt/support/model/HT-H4500R/ZF/ But on this UK page there's also a MICOM file https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/HT-H4500R/ZF/ What is the difference?

First off replace the surge protector that it is plugged into. If it isn't plugged into one, get one and use it. Second, you may have board issues from it being zapped so many times.

I see.. that's for the 4500, not the 4500R.

What you saw yesterday must also have been some confusion ?
