Is it worth the money to buy a 2080 in late December / early January?

Is it worth the 700-900 dollar price range for the 2080? Or is it better to go with a cheaper card? I'm going to use the build mainly for gaming and web browsing. I have 3 monitors, 1 of which is 4k which I will be gaming on.

there are cheaper alternatives... but it is a good card, and at least a better value then a 2080 ti
