Ryzen 2700 vs 1700x

So I'm headed out to help my brother buy his parts for his first ever custom gaming PC. We were looking at AMD CPUs due to their great cost/performance, and i noticed the local store we are going to have their R7 2700s priced at $230 but their R7 1700xs are $140. Is the 2700 worth almost double of a 1700x?

Definitely not. Get the 1700x (if they have a regular 1700 for even less just get that and OC it)

That's an incredible price for a 1700x, I would take it. Get a good cooler and overclock.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad
