So I'm running a brand new RTX 2080 FE with an overclocked 4690k and 16gb RAM. When I have RTX on in BFV, the frames are super unstable, and the game usually freezes within a few minutes, even with all settings on low. This is being run at 1440p. Has anyone else experience this? Should I be getting better performance out of my hardware?

Thanks,

Mr. Jake

the 4690k is likely bottle necking your GPU. Check your CPU usage while this is happening and if its at 100%, then that is your problem.

Cpu is far too weak. Time for a socket upgrade.

As the others said, your CPU is the issue here. Overclocking could help a bit, but you would be best of upgrading to say a 4790k. Bf 5 really likes cores and clock speed. And 4 core i5´s have been havibg a difficult time even back in Bf 1.

4790k isn’t gonna help. Can barely handle a 1080. Unless his will be special.

First off why is ur spare rig better than ur main ?! By a mile ?!

and a 4790k would help more but not as much as a 1700 at 4ghz for the same price ect or a 2600 4.2 with good ram of op can afford

-14900kf

- 4000 32gb ram

-4070ti super duper

Because one works as it should and I play different games on it. Native support and such.

Dont think the price would end up the same after getting all three components. Unless they can sell their current stuff for a decent price. Which is the route I would go regardless.

I use 4770k at 4.3ghz and its not enough...core i5 won't stand a chance...get a new cpu with at least 6 cores/12 threads...AKA not another core i5...ideally right now your better options would be Ryzen 7 or i7-8700
