24' 144 Hz QHD G-SYNC vs 27' 144 Hz QHD Free Sync

Katze

So I am in the market for a new monitor, I currently have a 27' 60 Hz FHD.

Here are my options.

https://www.pccasegear.com/products/42807/acer-xf270hu-qhd-144hz-freesync-27in-ips-gaming-monitor - $599 AUD

or

https://www.pccasegear.com/products/38358/acer-predator-xb1-qhd-165hz-g-sync-24in-gaming-monitor - $679 AUD

I have a GTX 1070, so I would not be able to use Free Sync, my question is, is G-Sync worth the price and smaller screen size?

24 inches at 1440p is wayy too small imo. 27 is perfectly usable, id rather ~32 inch personally.

Yeah my thoughts too, just asking if people think G-Sync is more important than size.

This is my preference:

Refresh rate. (120+)

A size appropriate to the resolution.

IPS or VA

G-Sync.

the g-sync display you linked is too small, and uses a TN panel.

If you want g-sync it will cost $200 more for the same display:

I swapped my 1070 for a 1080ti as for me it wasn't really fast enough in more demanding titles at 1440p 144hz.

Consider a 1080p display?

My brother just got the latter monitor I linked, the Acer Predator XB1.
I was testing it on my rig to decide if I wanted it, it ran Quake Champions fine on max settings and got around 110 to 120 fps.

But I will do a benchmark with Shadow of the Tomb raider.

I can reduce the graphics settings on some games.

And I can always upgrade mt GPU is need be.

I have 1440p 24 inch and it's perfectly fine (what I'm typing on right now). That being said when I use 1080p monitors everything feels a bit big now so maybe it takes getting adjusting to?
