defragment?

My gaming pc runs 2 ssds 1 nvme 250gb m.2 and one is 860 evo 1tb. I heard defragment is bad for ssds. Should i turn it off?

If you have defragment scheduled to run every week, pleease disable it. HDDs need defraging, but SSDs do not benefit from it. It's not the end of the world, but it very slightly lowers the life of the SSD

yeah, as defragmenting is putting stuff on a different spot, which costs some writing,and there's even no advantage as a ssd uses a memory chip over a spinning disk

The Windows 10 built-in defragment-tool doesn't defrag SSDs, so it's perfectly fine to leave the schedule as-is.

That's soo weird my old 850 evo sata m.2 ssd used to be defragged by window every week without me noticing. I thought the same first. I dont know if there was something wrong with my window.

Windows does not defrag SSDs, it just trims all empty blocks. No worries.
