Core i5/i7 with server boards?

Hello. So I am in need of an LGA 1155 motherboard, looking for as cheap as possible. I have a core i5 3470s. So I go to eBay and I see a lot of intel server motherboards that are ATX, so this should work, right? Then I look up the exact mode and find out they support xeons (obviously) and core i3s, but no mention of i5s. Why is this? Is i5 implied, or is literally just i3 supported?

i3's are supported as they support ecc as designed to be used as the low end server chip. the i5's should work, but its not garanteed.

Ok so uh... what’s the likelihood of this board working? https://ark.intel.com/products/53557/Intel-Server-Board-S1200BTL

Is it like a 90% chance works, or more like 50/50?

Thanks for your help
