PSU magic - explosion inside

your PSU blew up, either it blew a fuse or it killed itself and probably some of the parts in the system. if this was a new system you should be able to get your money back at least

I tried to power up my pre-built system with a Float on FL450 (450W). At first, it didn't start up. Then, it started, but seem kinda slow so I let it run. I also heard a scratching noise from it's fan, but the fan didn't hit anything. I was looking at it when suddenly there was an explosion inside. It didn't fall apart, but it looked like a small lightning.

 

Here's the question: What did just happen, why and can it be repaired and how?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Buy a new PSU. A decent one, from the top 3 tiers of the PSU Tier List (google "LTT PSU Tier List").

 

Look at all the parts in the system, if anything is visibly burnt, melted, or fused that part is probably dead (unless it's just the plastic covering on the GPU or something like that).

 

Detailed pics might help with autopsy.

Be EXTREMELY careful because touching one of those capacitors could literally kill you if it's still charged... I wouldn't mess around in there, it's a lot safer to just buy a new PSU for $30-50.
