Heya guys! Please help me out on what SDD i need to buy to upgrade my system that is currently on a HDD (WD Blue 1TB)

I already have two 1TB of drives right now, the first one has partition for OS and files, then the other is my game library. I was suppose to replace my OS drive first, but then i'm thinking on using it as my game library as well, but not all games will be installed to it, maybe my main games like The Division and Destiny 2 for example. This is my first time to buy a SDD and i am not sure what should i look for. I listed out my choices below, which all of them are within my spending limit of around 80 bucks.

Choices: (All Prices are converted from PHP to USD

Option 1: 500gb Samsung 860 EVO SSD 2.5 sata (76.02 USD)

Option 2: 480gb Kingston A400 SSD 2.5 sata (68.41 USD)

I can also consider your suggestions and see if it will be within my budget.

Thank you!

Can confirm. I'm replacing the one in my home server with an 860 Evo tomorrow. It's lost 10% health in 6 months with very low writes.

Question about Cloning. I haven't done that yet, but is there an option to select the partition only, and not the entire drive? or should i just download an updated windows 10 OS with it's updates and install it to my new drive?

While a clean install is usually what I'd recommend, especially if the existing install is a bit old, cloning could be all you need.

Samsung has a cloning tool for download on their website that does a good job, even when cloning to a smaller drive.
